Game Overview:
Dead Space is a survival horror game set in 2508, after Earth has suffered an extinction-level event due to overuse of resources. The remaining humans turn to the Concordance Extraction Corporation, which designs the USG Ishimura, a ship for the new practice of “planetcracking” to mine other planets for resources. However, the Ishimura is infested by an alien species known as Necromorphs during its 35th planetcrack mission. Players take on the role of Isaac, an engineer, who must fight his way through the ship using improvised weapons and navigate weightless and decompressed environments. The game features an ‘over the shoulder’ third-person perspective and emphasizes dismemberment as a means of defeating enemies.
